It appears Former U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs, Roger Noriega, urged Peruvians to vote for presidential candidate Keiko Fujimori in order "to prevent Peru from changing its democratic course," reported RPP news service. Like or dislike Roger Noriega, he is as a very knowledgeable and experienced source and his points are valid, it would be wise for voters to listen closely to what he has to say.
--Mr. Noriega:
(The undecided and blank voters) "It is a very high percentage that has not realized what is at stake in Peru. The economic stability that has been achieved cannot be jeopardized," he warned.
"Otherwise the country could fall into the axis of evil," he said.

Mr. Noriega is right on target. Peru has excelled over the past decade and has attained a growth rate and stability that is the envy of the world. The standard of living has risen dramatically and poverty has been reduced by more than 20%. The country is thriving and the dramatic constitutional change (promised by Humala) would prove disastrous. Investors would become hesitant and resistant under a Humala presidency. Peru needs gradual prudent change with an eye on maintaining that which has made this country an investor's favorite. We should make no mistake, no matter what our opinions are of the so-called greedy rich and big business, without them Peru goes back into the dark struggles of the past. That's where Humala wants to lead Peru. Keiko's highly accredited business education gives her the instincts needed to continue and accelerate Peru's success. Keiko is surrounding herself with people who know how to get the job done. She is proving to be a very bright and positive force for Peru.
